In a recent post, Is Your Website Secure, I discussed that the Chrome browser will flag all sites that transmit passwords or credit cards that do not have an SSL certificate as insecure. It now looks like FireFox will take the same approach. The FireFox 51 BETA clearly shows a site with an insecure WordPress admin (no SSL certificate). At this point, FireFox uses a crossed out padlock to indicate that the site is not secure.
Clicking the padlock brings up the following warning:
If your website does not have an SSL certificate, it is now time to get one! Many hosts now offer free SSL certificates via Let’s Encrypt. Check out these two recommended hosts:
